Mean War 2022

Mean War 2022: Monologues & Pictures is a special project conceived, created and carried on by Inna Rogatchi with support of The Rogatchi Foundation and in cooperation with the European Parliament and various national Parliaments. Members of the International Advisory Board of The Rogatchi Foundation and an impressive group of international public figures, diplomats, well-known culture figures has become Inna’s colleagues in creation this special document by their participation, input and support of the project.

The project’s core concept is a combination of intellectual and creative patterns in documenting and memorialising the outrageous war of the XXI century.  In the project, analyses of the most essential daily occurrences of the war are combined with Inna Rogatchi’s artworks in different genres. In this way, our intellectual capacity in perception of this brutal unprovoked aggression works along with our emotional capacity transferring  the process from mere observation to compassion.

I knew from the first minute of hearing that the war against Ukraine broke that my duty is to write daily about it, selecting the most important phenomena or most graphic events from the ongoing abuse of humanity. At the same time, I knew that it would be worth it to add my artworks to these daily dispatches adding an emotional volume to the situations which leave us speechless often and feelings to the moments when words pales’ – Inna Rogatchi, Introduction to The Mean War 2022.

This combination of author’s analyses with artist’s images evoke wide positive perception among the international audience.

I am delighted to see that Inna continues to be engaged in the foremost causes of our time. Hers is an important voice and it will resonate for all of us” – Dr Irwin Cotler, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, founder and President, The Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights.

‘Inna’s moving and enlightening daily comments are made all the more poignant, because in addition to her written personal observations, Inna Rogatchi gives us her artistic perspective on this atrocious war. With this unique combination of words and images, her work moves minds and hearts equally, engaging our minds intellectually and our  hearts emotionally. Inna finds the words when many of us do not. She speaks for us all” – Dr Elisabeth Kehrer, Austrian Ambassador to Mexico, Vienna, Austria.
